The "Walking Ideological and Political Education Class" segment of the TV program "Trendy Kids World" recently visited Xuhui High School in Shanghai. With the theme "Upholding Responsibility and Moving Forward Together—Writing Missions and Dreams on the Snowy Plateau," the program delivered a vivid ideological and political education lesson based on real experiences to all teachers and students. Dragon TV host Jin Wei, along with Wang Qinghua, Zheng Xuzhong, and Zhang Ye, members of the 10th batch of Shanghai's aid-to-Tibet team, presented the sense of responsibility, dedication, and camaraderie on the snowy plateau.

During the event, Jin Wei shared his experience filming in Shigatse, recounting the harshness of the high-altitude environment, the dedication of the aid workers, and the pure smiles of the children on the plateau. This gave the students a more direct understanding of the "connection that transcends mountains and rivers." Following this, the three guests shared their profound experiences and impressions left on Tibet through their work in education, arts education, and healthcare.
They protect dreams and lives on the plateau.
Teacher Zhang Ye has been engaged in art education at Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse for three years. He transformed an old storage room into an art studio and established a systematic art education curriculum, giving children on the plateau their first opportunity to express themselves through painting. His personally crafted art courses, club activities, and classroom practices have allowed the children's artistic talents to be recognized. Under his guidance, three senior high school students successfully gained admission to the Fine Arts program at Tibet University and the Beijing Institute of Printing, with one student achieving the highest score in the region.
To ensure the continuation of aesthetic education after his departure, Zhang Ye devoted more energy to training young teachers and compiling course materials, using mentorship to ensure the long-term continuation of aesthetic education on the plateau. He said, "I hope they know that the plateau is not lacking in dreams, and what I can do is to add another color to those dreams."
Three years of experience providing medical assistance in Tibet allowed Dr. Wang Qinghua to witness firsthand what it means to "protect life in thin air." He and his medical team often endured severe headaches from altitude sickness while continuing to treat patients. Faced with the 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Dingri County, he and his team immediately returned to the earthquake zone from their trip to visit relatives, simply because "that's where doctors should be." Thanks to the team's joint efforts, none of the earthquake victims sent to Shigatse People's Hospital died.
In his daily work, he led his team to improve emergency procedures, strengthen departmental management, and personally trained a local medical team, ensuring that the "medical team that cannot be taken away" truly remained on the plateau. He said, "Every time I persevere, it reminds me that supporting Tibet is not just a work experience, but also a responsibility."

For the past three years, Teacher Zheng Xuzhong has been promoting a series of in-depth educational reforms at Saga County Middle School, located at an altitude of 4,400 meters. From teaching and research to the establishment of master teacher studios, from school-level research projects to teacher training, he has worked alongside local teachers to overcome challenges, enabling the school to rise from 12th to 4th place in the county, successfully entering the "first tier." After the Tingri earthquake, even with his wife bedridden due to a fracture from a car accident, he still resolutely chose to "go against the flow" and return to Tibet. He said it wasn't a heroic choice, but simply "choosing to stand where I am most needed at a critical moment."
At the event, Zheng Xuzhong presented a video of a student from Saga County suffering from a congenital eye disease, showcasing the youth and perseverance of a highland teenager and allowing students in Xuhui District to see another kind of strength through empathy.
As the event drew to a close, a video specially recorded by Ma Yunhao, a teacher from Xuhui Middle School who is currently teaching in Tibet, was played. He sent a message from the snowy plateau to the students of his alma mater, encouraging them to cherish the present, strive for growth, and keep their dreams high. The atmosphere became quiet and moving, with many students' eyes shining.

Bringing real-life stories from the front lines to the campus
In recent years, the nation has consistently emphasized the need to build a comprehensive ideological and political education framework, extending ideological and political education beyond the classroom and into society, using vivid materials to tell China's story and clarify responsibilities. During its long-term creation process, the "Trendy Kids Around the World" program team accumulated a wealth of real-life footage and materials from the front lines of aid programs in Xinjiang and Tibet, recording the dedication and sacrifices of grassroots teachers, aid workers, medical team members, and construction workers in the harsh environment of the plateau, as well as the touching moments of local children growing up with warm support. Bringing these authentic frontline stories into schools allows students to directly experience the challenges of aiding Tibet and Xinjiang, and to understand the emotional foundation and contemporary significance of national unity.
This "Walking Ideological and Political Education Class - National Unity Theme Activity" uses authentic records as a medium and the firsthand accounts of those who have worked in Tibet as its core, so that the ideological and political education class can truly "stand" in life and "live" in stories, guiding young students to enhance their sense of identity through immersive experience and cultivate their patriotism through emotional resonance.
In the future, "Trendy Kids' World" will bring its "Walking Ideological and Political Education Class" to more schools in Shanghai, continuously conveying these true stories from the border regions of the motherland to more young people, measuring the vastness of the motherland with their footsteps, illuminating their beliefs with stories, and making every ideological and political education class a journey of sowing responsibility and warmth.
