
On October 28, TVB published an obituary in the morning, stating that Xu Shaoxiong passed away peacefully in the early morning due to multiple organ failure caused by cancer. He was 76 years old.
Hui Siu Hung is a famous TVB supporting actor. His representative works include the movies "Infernal Affairs" and "Undercover", and the TV series "Line Walker", "Undercover", "My Sheng Lady", "The Four", "The Best Years", "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", "The Deer and the Cauldron", "The Heir of Family Glory" and "The Judge".
On October 27, news broke that Hui Siu-hung was critically ill and hospitalized. His family, as well as Chow Yun-fat, Michael Miu and Michelle Yim, Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Ron Ng and many other friends in the circle went to the hospital to visit him.
Offscreen, Hui Shiu-hung is the epitome of a good husband and father. He has been married to his Singaporean wife, Lung Yan, for many years and is known in the entertainment industry for his loving devotion to his wife. Born in Hong Kong in 1948, Hui Shiu-hung returned to Guangzhou with his father at the age of one to pursue business. According to TVB, his ancestor was Hui Baiting, one of the four great salt merchants. His great-grandfather was Hui Yingqi, a close official of Empress Dowager Cixi. His great-aunt was Xu Guangping, the wife of the modern Chinese writer Lu Xun. Hui Shiu-hung once said, "Compared to them, it's like every tree has dead branches, and every clan has beggars. I'm both a dead branch and a beggar. I'm so far behind them."

It was not until 1958 that Xu Shaoxiong moved back to Hong Kong with his family. His life changed a lot. His father, who was originally a businessman, became a wage earner, and then the family slowly started doing business again.
Later, out of interest and hobby, Xu Shaoxiong helped in his father's shop while applying for the wireless artist training class with the mentality of giving it a try.
After graduating from the first TVB Artist Training Class in 1972, Hui Shiu-hung joined TVB. After three years at TVB, he moved to Rediffusion Television (ATV), and returned to TVB four years later. While at ATV, he became the first artist to drive a Mercedes-Benz to work, earning him the nickname "Benz-hung."
In 1974, Xu Shaoxiong starred in the movie "Ghosts and Goblins" with brothers Xu Guanwen and Xu Guanjie, playing the role of Xiao Mihu. This was his first film participation.
In 1983, he participated in the TVB version of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", playing the role of Zhu Cong, a talented scholar among the "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan". This was the first time he entered the vision of mainland audiences.
In 1984, the TV series he starred in, including The Deer and the Cauldron, The Rookie Apprentice, and The Legend of the Bat, were broadcast one after another. In The Rookie Apprentice, he played Xu Zhaodong, the uncle of Zhang Weijie (played by Tony Leung).

In 1999, Hui Siu-hung played the role of Huang Qifa, Lau Ching-wan's boss, in the movie Infernal Affairs and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the 19th Hong Kong Film Awards for this role.

In 2002, he starred in the movie "The Apprentice" which was released. In the film, he played Zhong Lehai, the boss of Fang Lijuan (played by Miriam Yeung), and pretended to be her father.

In 2013, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the TVB Anniversary Awards for his role as Xiang Shannan in "My盛Lady".
In 2014, he played Tan Huanxi in "Line Walker", and since then he has been called "Brother Huanxi" and won the "My Favorite TV Male Character" at the TVB Thousand Stars Awards Ceremony.

This year, the TV series he starred in, including "Love Monsoon Passing By", "Hunting", "Dessert Mom Lin Xiaohe", "Drug War", and "The Judge", were broadcast one after another.
