On August 4, the movie "Assassination of Novelist 2" was officially announced to be released on October 1, and will be released simultaneously around the world.
Directed by Lu Yang and starring Deng Chao and Dong Zijian, the film follows on from its predecessor, continuing the themes of passion and conviction. In the "Hot Blood Returns" trailer, the Red-Haired Demon (played by Deng Chao) unleashes chaos in another world, putting Lu Kongwen (played by Dong Zijian) and the others to a severe test.
"Assassination of Novelist," adapted from Shuang Xuetao's novel of the same name, was released during the 2021 Spring Festival. Starring Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi, Dong Zijian, Yu Hewei, Guo Jingfei, and Tong Liya, it grossed 1.035 billion yuan, ranking third in the Spring Festival box office, behind "Hello, Li Huanying" (5.413 billion yuan) and "Detective Chinatown 3" (4.523 billion yuan). The film received a Douban score of 6.5, with criticism primarily focused on the storyline. However, the film's visual effects, particularly the design of the Red-Haired Demon, have been praised. In the original film, the Red-Haired Demon was voiced by actor Yang Yi, but in this new film, Deng Chao takes on the role.

According to Maoyan Professional Edition, there are currently four films scheduled for release on October 1st. In addition to "Assassination of Novelist 2", there are also "Panda Project 2" starring Jackie Chan, the animated film "Pig Man: Counterattack of an Old Pig" and the animated film "Red Boy: The King of Flame Mountain".
In addition, films such as "Catching Spies" directed by Feng Xiaogang and starring Lei Jiayin and Hu Ge; and "Heroes of Sanyuanli" starring Yan Yikuan are also expected to be included in this year's National Day schedule.
