The documentary film "Hot Years" was officially released on May 10, and its premiere was held in Shenzhen. This is the first documentary film focusing on the work and life of Shenzhen employees, focusing on the stories of 8 groups of "ordinary and easily overlooked" Shenzhen workers, connecting the city's development marks over 40 years of reform and opening up.

Director Wang Shaohan said that although the film is a propositional composition, they nurtured it like a "mother", and also kept it simple and sincere like a "mother". The main creators traveled to 11 districts in Shenzhen and interviewed nearly 100 people to reserve enough samples and local feelings. It is reported that the second and third parts will be filmed later, and they will use more relaxed and free hands and feet and thoughts to make better film works.
The protagonists in the movie also expressed their feelings after watching the movie. Zheng Yanping, the "first generation of migrant workers in the Special Economic Zone", said: "I have been in Shenzhen for 43 years and 3 months. I found that in fact, a person's life does not depend on who you are, but on whether you have a deep life, rich experience, and gain insights." Lu Jianxin, a "great craftsman", said that the movie inspired him to continue to exert his remaining energy and strive to achieve results in everything.

Director Wang Shaohan described the profound significance of the film in this way, "When a warehouse keeper insists on writing poems every day, when a retired migrant worker in the Special Administrative Region hopes to organize a 40th anniversary gathering of workers, when a young mother thinks about how to get a city hukou, when left-behind children come to Shenzhen and return to their hometown, when programmers do talk shows in their spare time, when artificial intelligence breaks into the silver market, when new college graduates enter the Federation of Trade Unions, and when craftsmen from a great country begin to recall the hot years that have passed, this film, dedicated to all hard workers, will always have meaning."
As the opening work of the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions' "Kung Fu" documentary series, "Hot Years" was selected for the 2024 China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival "Lucky Film" tour; selected for the "14th Five-Year Plan" cultural development plan major cultural project - National Image Collection Project; selected for the 10th China Oral History International Week Annual Project Exhibition; shortlisted for the China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Festival Golden Cotton Excellent Documentary Re-evaluation Award and the 10th Golden Cotton Film Festival Screening; shortlisted for the third Chinese Documentary Film Conference Social Documentary Recommended Works and Best Sound Effects Recommended Works.
