On January 6, the first China (Jilin) Real Image Conference officially kicked off in Jilin City, Jilin Province. With the theme of "Recording the World's Image of Jilin", the first China (Jilin) Real Image Conference gathered industry experts and image creators from all over the world, with proposal pre-sale as the core section, professional exchanges and project promotion as the key content, covering talent training, work incubation and many cross-border activities, and committed to promoting the prosperity and development of Jilin's documentary images and short video creation, improving the training mechanism for young talents, and accelerating the pace of documentary industrialization.

This conference was held in Jilin from January 6 to 8, with documentary proposals and venture capital as the core, covering a variety of activities such as opening and closing ceremonies, documentary proposal venture capital activities, professional salons, documentary masters entering universities, and documentary topic research. According to reports, the conference collected a total of 138 proposals, and finally 15 proposals entered the proposal venture capital stage. The conference will select some proposals for support, and provide subsequent production services, financial support and other support methods to help promote excellent proposals to major domestic and international film and television festivals, and the final film will have the opportunity to be broadcast on multiple platforms.

Li Zhongzhi, Director of the Publicity Department of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, particularly emphasized that it is necessary to vigorously promote the creation of 4K ultra-high-definition documentaries, which is a new opportunity for the development of documentaries. Starting this year, newly produced documentaries must basically achieve ultra-high definition. The General Administration will take a series of support measures to vigorously promote the ultra-high definition of documentaries and innovate methods to achieve longer dissemination. At the same time, it will carry out excellent documentary exhibitions, launch documentary feature channels, and create more high-quality works around the five series of "Recording China", "Cultural China", "Traveling China", "Landscape China" and "Humanistic China" to promote documentaries to reach new heights.

Fan Zongchai, Vice Chairman of the China Television Association and Chairman of the Documentary Academic Committee, said in his speech that documentaries are the mirror of the times and the witness of history. They convey the warmth of the times and the brilliance of humanity with a unique perspective and true expression. The China Television Association has always played its academic role and platform function, and is committed to exploring and displaying the unique charm and humanistic value of documentaries. As one of the organizers of the event, the Documentary Academic Committee of the China Television Association hopes to provide a platform for communication, display and cooperation for documentary creators at home and abroad.

At the opening ceremony, Zhu Yannan, Party Secretary and Director of the Development Research Center of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and Huang Haibo, Deputy Director and Director of the Editorial Office of Phoenix Satellite TV Chinese Channel, delivered keynote speeches respectively. Zhu Yannan mentioned that in-depth exploration of regional resources is very important for creating documentary masterpieces. He shared his understanding and thinking on the high-quality development of current documentaries from six dimensions, and emphasized the need to fasten the first button of creation. Huang Haibo said that every corner of Jilin exudes a charming brilliance that documentary filmmakers deserve to record. In order to present this brilliance, the conference specially launched the "Record the World · Image Jilin" Youth Image Creation Plan. Each work will show the diversity and splendor of the charming Jilin in one minute.

At the opening ceremony, the "Record the World, Image Jilin" youth video creation plan was officially launched. The event will invite young creators from all over the country to capture every touching moment of Jilin from a youthful perspective, narrate Jilin's stories, and convey Jilin's voice, so that more people can see Jilin, understand Jilin, and fall in love with Jilin.

The conference also held the launch ceremony of the large-scale documentary "Mr. Going North", and released the list of key documentary projects of Jilin Radio and Television Station in 2025, including documentaries "Changbai Mountain", "Journey to Wonderland - Exploring the Miracle of Changbai Mountain", "Linhai Ginseng Village", "Wu Dacheng", "Endless Errenzhuan", "Autumn Fairy Tale (G331 Jilin Section)", "Snowing in Changbai Day", and the documentary film "Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army". These works are based on the regional characteristics of Jilin Province, covering multiple fields such as nature, history, and culture, and also incorporate innovative shooting techniques and unique narrative perspectives, aiming to bring unprecedented visual and spiritual experiences to the audience.

Mr. North

At the scene, the Northeast Tiger and Leopard Culture International Communication Center, jointly established by Jilin Media Co., Ltd. and Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park Administration, was officially unveiled. It is introduced that the center will better protect and monitor the ecological environment of Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park, make every effort to build the brand image of Northeast Tiger and Leopard Culture, strengthen the construction of international communication capabilities, and become the best window to showcase Jilin's natural resources and China's ecological civilization construction.

Wang Tianming, professor at the School of Life Sciences of Beijing Normal University and director of the Key Laboratory of Conservation Ecology of Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, shared the latest progress and research results in the protection of Northeast tigers and leopards in recent years; Paul Lewis (Canada), director of the World Conference of Scientific and Documentary Producers, shared his expectations for the International Communication Center of Northeast Tiger and Leopard Culture.
