The schedule of "Mr. Red Carpet" has been full of twists and turns. Initially, the film was scheduled to be released on November 17 last year, but on November 8 last year it was announced that the schedule would be adjusted to February 10, 2024, the New Year's Day. However, the box office performance of "Mr. Red Carpet" during this year's Spring Festival was mediocre, with a cumulative box office of 84.121 million yuan. On February 16, "Mr. Red Carpet" issued a statement announcing its withdrawal from the Spring Festival.

"Mr. Red Carpet" tells the story of Hong Kong superstar Liu Weichi (played by Andy Lau) who has been in the movie industry for 40 years and has always aspired to win the Best Actor. He decided to collaborate with director Lin Hao (Ning Hao) on rural-themed films, which earned him international fame at film festivals. To this end, Liu Weichi went deep into the countryside to experience life, personally solicited investment, and refused to use a stand-in. This triggered a series of ridiculous farces that made people laugh and cry, and also showed the various aspects of the entertainment industry.

Although it has the aura of director Ning Hao and starring Andy Lau, the comedy attribute of the film is not strong and does not match the tone of the Spring Festival family carnival. The current score on Douban is 6.8 points.

According to Maoyan Professional Edition, "Mr. Red Carpet" was released in Hong Kong, China on February 29, and only earned more than 60,000 Hong Kong dollars at the box office, ranking seventh in the Hong Kong box office list that day.
