The costume drama "Heaven and Earth Sword Heart," starring Cheng Yi and Li Yitong, will premiere on iQiyi at 12:00 PM on October 25th. This is also the final chapter of the "Fox Demon Trilogy."
"Sword Heart of Heaven and Earth" is produced by iQiyi, Yuewen Film and Television, and Star Gravity, directed by Du Lin, with screenwriters Miao Wenjing and Ding Ya, and also starring Guo Junchen, Zhang Zhiyao, Tan Kai, Fan Ming, Chang Huasen, Zhang Kaiying, He Ruixian, Tong Mengshi, Kanana, Wang Hongyi, Mao Xiaohui, and Lu Jingshan.
Cheng Yi plays Wang Quanfugui
This drama is adapted from "Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Wang Quan" by Xiaoxin, a Tencent Comics work under China Literature Group. The story follows Wang Quan Fugui (Cheng Yi), who has been trained since childhood as the ultimate weapon for the Yiqi League to slay demons. He encounters Qingtong (Li Yitong), a spider spirit who has infiltrated Wang Quan Villa as a spy. Qingtong's appearance further changes Fugui's view of demons. In the world depicted by Qingtong, Fugui experiences unprecedented freedom, and his longing for universal peace is gradually ignited. Director Du Lin is known for his work on "Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Yuehong," "Huaishui Bamboo Pavilion," and "Seven Times of Auspiciousness."
As the third installment in the Fox Spirit trilogy, "Heaven and Earth Sword Heart" has garnered widespread attention since filming began. Previously, "Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Moon Red" and "Huaishui Bamboo Pavilion" starred '85 actresses Yang Mi and Liu Shishi, respectively, and the supporting cast also boasted significant popularity. "Heaven and Earth Sword Heart" marks the first time a '90s actress has taken the lead role. Cheng Yi plays Wang Quan Fugui, the son of Liu Shishi's Dongfang Huaizhu and Zhang Yunlong's Wang Quan Hongye. This marks Cheng Yi and Li Yitong's second collaboration since their collaboration in "Heroes."
